A Brookfield woman arrived home on Wednesday afternoon to find police surrounding her property.
Police arrived at the property on Brookfield Terrace at about 1pm after a member of the public reported seeing a suspicious person inside the house.

A woman arrived home on Wednesday afternoon to find a number of police officers surrounding her property.

Sergeant Steve Hindmarsh says police quickly arrived at the property and surrounded the house so the person could not escape.
A police dog was also taken to the scene but was not needed.
Police entered the house and found a man inside, says Steve.
The 31 year old Tauranga man cooperated with police and was arrested at the scene.
Steve says the man was taken back to Tauranga Police Station and questioned. He says it is likely the man will face burglary charges.
