Dev Sangha was victim to a robbery on Monday night.
He took the float and threatened to shoot Dev if he told the police.
'He got out of the car with his left hand on the door handle,” says Dev.
'He came to punch me with his right hand. I put my foot on the accelerator and drove my car as fast as I could with the open door.”
He closed the door a short distance away and called police.
He says the man who robbed him is European, aged 25-30, with blue eyes, a long nose and brown hair.
'There were no tattoos, he wasn't wearing any gang stuff,” says Dev.
When picked up from Exeter Street, Bayfair, Dev said the man called himself Liam.
Tauranga police were in a meeting and could not be contacted.

Run a referendum - Do you believe that offenders, found guilty beyond reasonable doubt of unprovoked assaults, rape, murder, arson, child molestation and incest should be required in addition to any other sentence, to undergo a non reversable vasectomy. Y/N We cannot rely on politicians of any ilk to deliver proper outcomes without a strong direction from the community and I challenge you to provide that opportunity to turn around the dreadful NZ stats on crime.
