Police, fire fighters and council workers were on the streets early Tuesday morning at 4am cleaning up a diesel spill that dribbled from State Highway 2 at Moffat Road, and along 15th Avenue, Cameron Road and Hynds Road.
The offending vehicle wasn't located. Tauranga police say the early discovery and clean up of the spill probably saved a few accidents during the morning commute.
