Lighter load for Tga student

Massey University extramural student and Tauranga writer, Vivette Reid, was recently awarded the Peter Collett Extramural Bursary to financially assist her study in media and communication.

Full-time, third-year, adult student Vivette Reid was awarded the Peter Collett Extramural Bursary.

'I was delighted and humbled to be selected, considering there are other students equally worthy of the award,” says Vivette.
'This award helps lighten the financial burden incurred by study – it's really wonderful.”
Vivette is a full-time, third-year, adult student, completing a Bachelor of Communication majoring in Journalism Studies and Expressive Arts.
'Throughout the degree I've somehow successfully mixed study while working in professional media roles and raising a family. Sounds crazy, and it's stressful at times, but it's short term pain for long term gain.”
The Peter Collett Extramural Bursary was founded in 2008 by the Estate of Peter Collett and is awarded annually. Its main purpose is to financially assist extramural students in their first undergraduate degree at Massey University, and is valued up to $2000. The primary consideration in making the awards is the applicant's financial circumstances. Academic merit and good character are also taken into consideration.
Vivette was one of 16 students who applied for the award.
