Turning off and giving up

What a shame that Thomas Brown (The Weekend Sun 28 August) went to the CAT (Citizens Advocacy Tauranga) meeting with his Anti-Act button turned on, and his ears turned off.

At least Roger Douglas told us the truth (like it or not) which is more than he has managed.
Along with quite a few others, I was at that meeting, I know we were listening, and think we gained a very different view.
Here is (for a change) a very switched on Minister of the Crown, really waking us up to the darkness we have allowed ourselves to become accustomed to over these last few years.
Councils, in the from of our public servants (who have become our masters) proliferating a bunch of crazy rules and regulations, that do nothing for tax or rate payers, stifle economic development, and a lot of it, looking as if it just helps them to stay in, and justify their jobs.
And whose fault is it? Ours! Make no mistake about it! We have allowed this stupidity to happen, by turning off and giving up.
We are the only ones who can fix it, and until we decide to wake up and motivate ourselves, it will continue.
All power to CAT. And shame on the fault finders. That's easy. Try doing something constructive for a change.
