District plan drives submission

The Bay of Plenty Property Council will make a submission on the Tauranga District Plan Review, describing its changes as the 'most significant events to affect property and future growth and development within the city.”

The organisation's president Aaron Collier says there are a number of specific parts of the plan which directly affect members.
'These include changes to the residential zones and rules relating to development of the commercial and industrial business areas of the city.
There are also a number of overlays in the plan relating to matters such as flooding, heritage and landscape features which will have a direct bearing on landowners' abilities to develop their land,” says Aaron.
He says there are also major changes proposed for the city centre.
Landowners need to be aware of how these changes affect them and need to be involved in the District Plan process, says Aaron.
The BOP Property Council represents property owners, managers and developers by providing advocacy research and networking opportunities when it comes to property.
Submissions on the district plan close on December 15.
