Woman injured at Ruahihi waterfall

A 25 year old woman was taken to Tauranga Hospital early Sunday evening after being injured while trying to sledge down a waterfall on the Ruahihi River.
St John ambulance staff say the woman hit her leg on a rock at about 5pm after going over the three metre waterfall.

Sledging involves a person floating down a river on a board and using flippers to steer.
The woman had been pulled from the water by the time St John staff arrived at the scene.
